Love, love, love this place. I have been going here since I was a little girl and have never stopped. I'm responsible for my San Mateo friends' obsession with Speederia's pizza - better for me, since now they come down to Redwood City more often! Slices are fairly expensive since I usually get 2-3, but I'm supporting a local business, so I don't mind. I shouldn't be eating pizza that often anyways...lol.

Recently, I started my Zero Waste journey, which makes it more challenging to eat out. Although the cashier was skeptical about me bringing my own container (to avoid paper plates), he obliged my request. I just wish they'd have more sustainable practices for people who order "for here," especially since families like to stay in the restaurant and eat. Otherwise, great pizza, and hopefully they'll get used to me bringing in my own container :)

A small little hole in the wall with food that fits right with all the negative connotations of that description. The man at the cash register was really the epitome of this restaurant. I asked about the Speederia deal and he proceeded to ignore me and then when I asked again, he said "yeah it automatically comes with that, that's what the deal is." Then I asked if it was okay for me to grab the drink cup myself and he just pointed at the sign that said it included the drink. Some horrible customer service to say the least. This guy was also the person cutting the pizza and serving it out, which disgusted me because he had just handled the money the person in front of me gave him and I saw no trips to the sink to wash his hands.

The pizza was alright, nothing to go out of your way for. The ricotta on the Whitestone pizza was my favorite part but other than that, the pizza tasted old and greasy. Two slices of pizza and a drink ran me $9 but I still had to eat a whole other meal after because the pizza was thin and frail. Went here off a recommendation of a friend, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I believe there were multiple Speederia locations but the one in RWC is the only one I've been to ...and can find open online.

The pizza shop is on the outside part of the small neighborhood strip mall where Sancho's is also in. The inside has a couple high tables for easy eat-n-go and there's a bench outside that's nice in the warmer months.

I've had nearly all their pizzas from basic cheese or pepperoni to their Brooklyn, chicken pesto, Hawaiian, Monaco, Daytona and more. But my favorite is probably the Whitestone which is the perfect mix of Parmesan, Ricotta, Basil, Garlic. Simple. Doesn't even need meat.

What's great about Speederia are thin, appropriately crispy crust that only comes in one size- large. I know the dough, sauce, cheese, toppings combined with the right thinness and cook temperature because the tip of the pie droops down just a bit when folded just so before taking the first bite.

I also like it since its family run and the family does a great job. I hope they keep this business running for a long time!

My friends is from India and had his first pesto tasting here. He loved the pizza and so did I !! I'm really happy that we choose this place. Yum.

My hubs and I come by here at least once of week for their Pizza Special - Two Slices & a Drink.  It is our favorite, thin crust, pizza by the slice - period.  I'm addicted to their Whitestone (pictured) and their Brooklyn or Pig Apple.  Hubs, goes for the Pig Apple, Pepperoni. or the perfect cheese.  A family owned business, great group of people, delicious pizza and a quick in and out.  Great for when I'm the Realtor on the Go!  In Redwood City at the bottom of Emerald Hills, close to Alameda and Jefferson Ave!
